MoIAT and EKTIFA Collaborate to Enhance Food Industry Services Using Agentic AI

Abu dhabi: The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), in collaboration with the Sharjah Agricultural and Livestock Production Establishment (EKTIFA), organized the Interactive Council for Service Development for the Food Industries Sector at Mleiha Wheat Farm in Sharjah. The event aimed to advance food industry services through the deployment of Agentic AI technology.

According to Emirates News Agency, the council aligns with the objectives of the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology, the Make it in the Emirates initiative, and the UAE government's focus on the Agentic AI program. It gathered investors, factories, and companies in the sector, along with representatives from government and private entities in Sharjah.

The initiative is part of MoIAT's approach to engage directly with the industrial sector, incorporating feedback to enhance government services. The focus is on utilizing Agentic AI to improve investor experiences, enhance service efficiency, and support the growth of priority industries. Discussions centered on the needs of factories and identifying opportunities to develop services that anticipate customer needs and simplify their journey.

Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, Undersecretary of MoIAT, emphasized the ministry's commitment to listening to industrial and service companies and designing efficient services aligned with their needs. He highlighted the importance of deploying Agentic AI and transforming dialogues with factories into actionable service enhancements.

Dr. Eng. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, CEO of EKTIFA, reiterated the establishment's commitment to supporting sustainable food security and enhancing local production efficiency. He emphasized the strategic partnership with MoIAT as crucial for understanding sector needs and translating them into development opportunities that bolster the UAE's food industries.

The council included discussions on leveraging advanced technologies and AI to improve food industry quality, strengthen supply chains, and support innovation. It also highlighted the role of Mleiha Wheat Farm in the UAE's agricultural development.

MoIAT's customer council initiative started in Dubai and is expanding to other emirates, with the aim of developing services that cater to factories' needs and support national industrial growth. The council explored key opportunities for service development using Agentic AI, focusing on reducing customer effort and streamlining processes.

The collaborative efforts of MoIAT and EKTIFA reflect a commitment to enhancing the resilience and sustainability of supply chains, improving the business environment, and raising the competitiveness of the UAE's industrial sector.
