UAE Judo Team Achieves 29 Medals at Arab Championships in Kuwait

Abu Dhabi:The UAE national judo team concluded its participation in the Arab Championships with a total of 29 medals, including 9 gold, 10 silver, and 10 bronze. The event took place at the Kuwait Club Sports Hall from October 5 to 9 under the supervision of the Arab Judo Federation.

According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE team secured 15 medals on the final day of the championships. This added to the 14 medals won by the cadet team at the start of the event.

In the young men's category, Masoud Al Mismari, Abdulrahman Ganiev, and Rashid Nematov won gold medals in the under-55kg, under-60kg, and under-81kg categories, respectively. Mohammed Al Shamsi claimed a silver medal in the over-100kg category. Bronze medals were awarded to Manea Al Zaabi and Hamid Al Shamsi in the 55kg category, Hamdan Al Mazmi in the 73kg category, Yousuf Al Awad in the under-81kg category, and Butti Al Hashemi in the 60kg category.

In the young women's category, the UAE team won six medals. Aisha Al Mazrouei, Nouf Saeed, Hoor Yousuf, Hessa Al Zaabi, and Sara Johar each earned silver medals in their respective weight categories. Meera Ahmed secured a bronze medal in the 48kg category.

Mohammed bin Thaloub Al Derie, President of the UAE Judo Federation, commended the national team's success, attributing it to the comprehensive preparation phase at the international training camp in Tashkent. He emphasized the federation's commitment to developing age-group teams for future international competitions, in collaboration with clubs to enhance their competitive abilities.
