Hanoi:Mauritania has announced the formation of a new government under Prime Minister El Moctar Ould Djay. This development follows President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani's decision to renew his confidence in Ould Djay and task him with proposing a new cabinet.
According to Emirates News Agency, the reshuffle affected several ministerial portfolios, including defence, interior, health, and Islamic affairs. However, some ministers retained their positions in key areas such as foreign affairs, justice, finance, equipment and transport, mines and industry, and trade and tourism.
The new government comprises 29 ministerial portfolios. Notable appointments include Mohamed Ould Abdel Vetah as Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Ba Ousmane as Minister of Defence, Veterans' Affairs and Children of Martyrs, and El Moctar Ould Ahmed Bouceif as Minister of the Interior, Decentralisation, and Local Development.
