Abdullah Bin Zayed Hosts Pakistani Deputy PM for UAE-Pakistan Joint Ministerial Commission

Abu Dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, welcomed Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, during the 12th session of the UAE-Pakistan Joint Ministerial Commission held in Abu Dhabi. The discussions centered on enhancing bilateral relations to benefit both nations and their people.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting concluded with the signing of the minutes of the session by Sheikh Abdullah and Ishaq Dar. They also formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the mutual exemption of entry visa requirements, enhancing the ease of travel between the two countries. Additionally, a MoU was signed to establish a joint task force aimed at fostering UAE investments in Pakistan's strategic sectors, with Mohamed Hassan Al Suwaidi and Tariq Bajwa as signatories.

The two sides also signed an agreement on artificial intelligence and the digital economy, with Mohamed Hassan Al Suwaidi and Zarar Hashim Khan, Federal Secretary, Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications of Pakistan, as signatories. The joint commission meeting was attended by prominent figures including Mohamed Hassan Al Suwaidi, Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Omran Sharaf, and Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, highlighting the significance of the event.

Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, who chaired the UAE delegation, emphasized the strong partnership between the UAE and Pakistan, which has been built on decades of cooperation since establishing diplomatic ties in 1971. He acknowledged Mohammad Ishaq Dar's efforts in promoting bilateral relations and noted the thriving non-oil trade, which surpassed US$8.6 billion in 2024. Al Sayegh reiterated the commitment of both countries to a future of prosperity and shared objectives.
