Abu Dhabi Chamber Membership Surpasses 158,000 in First Half of 2025

Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) has reported a 4.9 percent increase in its membership during the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, with the total number of members now exceeding 158,000. This growth underscores the emirate's robust business environment despite global economic challenges.

According to Emirates News Agency, several sectors have shown significant membership growth, indicating a shift towards industries with high future potential. The agriculture, forestry, and fishing sector led with a 21 percent increase, followed by a 13 percent rise in the arts and entertainment sector. Both the information and communication technology sector and vocational, scientific, and technical activities experienced a 10 percent growth. These trends highlight a growing demand for creative, technology-driven, and specialized services throughout the emirate.

The growth in chamber memberships reflects a strategic focus on industries poised for future success. The water supply and waste management sector saw a 9 percent increase, influenced by greater environmental awareness and interest in circular economy principles. Both property and administrative services sectors enjoyed an 8 percent growth, buoyed by a strong real estate market and the rising need for business support services.

The education sector expanded by 7 percent, demonstrating the strength of Abu Dhabi's private education system. Transport and storage rose by 6 percent, driven by the expansion of supply chains and logistics. Mining and quarrying increased by 5 percent, while wholesale and retail trade grew by 4 percent, indicating stable consumer demand.

Steady growth of 3 percent was recorded in construction, manufacturing, and financial services. Accommodation and food services saw a 2 percent rise, reflecting seasonal fluctuations and changing consumer preferences.

Shamis Ali Al Dhaheri, Second Vice Chairman and Managing Director of ADCCI, commented on the results, stating, "These figures confirm the private sector's central role in powering the accelerated growth Abu Dhabi is achieving. The sharp rise in memberships across sectors such as agriculture, modern technologies, and arts reflects the far-reaching impact of the emirate's ambitious development agenda, with the chamber playing a pivotal role in sustaining this momentum by driving innovation, enabling high-impact partnerships, and expanding economic opportunities."

These results highlight Abu Dhabi's economic diversification and the increasing strength of future-focused sectors rooted in knowledge, innovation, and sustainability, while traditional industries continue to contribute significantly.
