Abu dhabi: Abu Dhabi Customs and the UK-based Competere Group, a consultancy specializing in economic policy and trade law, have entered into a cooperation agreement aimed at promoting innovation in trade facilitation and bolstering global competitiveness. The partnership will utilize advanced technologies and forward-thinking economic models to create a business environment conducive to sustainable growth in international trade.
According to Emirates News Agency, the agreement was signed by Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori, Director General of Abu Dhabi Customs, and Shanker Singham, Chief Executive Officer of Competere Group, during the Abu Dhabi Investment Forum held in London. The signing was witnessed by Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), and Mansoor Abulhoul, UAE Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
This collaboration underscores Abu Dhabi Customs’ commitment to developing a digitally enabled customs ecosystem that improves the efficiency and reliability of trade operations. The initiative involves strategic partnerships with international institutions, private sector entities, and technology partners, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s status as a premier global hub for trade and logistics.
Rashed Al Mansoori emphasized the importance of trade facilitation and digital transformation in Abu Dhabi’s strategic vision, highlighting the goal to exchange knowledge, implement global best practices, and develop smarter trade systems.
