Abu Dhabi: The Advanced Technology Research Council's (ATRC) commercialisation arm, VentureOne, has unveiled a new technological venture named SteerAI, which aims to revolutionize industrial vehicles by transforming them into autonomous powerhouses. This pioneering initiative introduces an advanced mobility system powered by artificial intelligence, designed to enhance both the logistics and defense sectors.According to Emirates News Agency, SteerAI employs a comprehensive technology suite consisting of a hardware kit, software stack, and fleet management system. This integration allows standard industrial vehicles to execute complex missions with high precision and efficiency, significantly reducing time and resource expenditure while ensuring the safety of human workforces. The innovative technology behind SteerAI was developed by experts from the Technology Innovation Institute (TII), which serves as the applied research arm of ATRC.Faisal Al Bannai, Adviser to the UAE President and Secretary General o f ATRC, emphasized the strategic importance of SteerAI, stating that the launch is a pivotal step in reinforcing the UAE's leadership in autonomous technology. He highlighted ATRC's commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation, with SteerAI serving as a prime example of turning groundbreaking research into impactful real-world solutions.Dr. Najwa Aaraj, CEO of TII, elaborated on the capabilities of SteerAI, describing it as the 'brain' of autonomous vehicles. She explained that advanced navigation algorithms, paired with cutting-edge sensors, form a modular system adaptable to any vehicle. This technology allows vehicles to navigate consistently and precisely, responding swiftly to potential hazards and operating effectively in challenging environments and unmapped areas.SteerAI's system not only enables fully autonomous mobility but also supports remote fleet management, offering mission planning, monitoring, and data-driven analytics to optimize vehicle deployment and performance. Reda Nidhakou, A cting CEO of VentureOne, remarked on the significance of SteerAI's launch, noting its potential to redefine operational efficiency in logistics and defense by leveraging technology to transform operational practices.SteerAI marks the second venture launched by VentureOne, following AI71, which debuted in November 2023. AI71 focuses on creating business solutions using TII's Falcon generative AI models, further demonstrating VentureOne's dedication to advancing technology-driven innovations.
