ADCMC Launches Forum to Enhance Crisis Management and Service Continuity

Abu Dhabi: The Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Centre Abu Dhabi (ADCMC) has initiated its annual ‘Business Continuity and Alternative National Service – Murona’ Forum to bolster crisis management preparedness and ensure the uninterrupted provision of essential services.

According to Emirates News Agency, the two-day event assembles high-ranking dignitaries and representatives from various government entities. The Forum’s objectives include highlighting ADCMC’s pivotal role in crisis management, fostering awareness on the importance of business and service continuity, and introducing alternative service strategies to maintain operations during emergencies. It also acts as a valuable platform for networking and knowledge exchange among leaders from different sectors and government bodies.

On the first day of the Forum, the ‘Abu Dhabi Healthcare Business Continuity Standard’ was launched in collaboration with the Department of Health Abu Dhabi. This pioneering standard, the first of its kind globally focused on healthcare, is part of a series of continuity management standards to be introduced for all critical activities in Abu Dhabi to enhance resilience. The standard seeks to fortify the healthcare sector’s preparedness and continuity management in healthcare services throughout the emirate.

The day also saw the graduation of 129 recruits from three cohorts of the Alternative National Service Program. The Forum featured discussions on best practices and strategies for ensuring business continuity, with experts and professionals sharing their insights and experiences. Additionally, 21 local organisations that effectively activated the Alternative National Service Program were honoured, along with 10 local entities that met the requirements for compliance with the National Business Continuity Standard in Abu Dhabi.

Matar Al Nuaimi, Director-General of ADCMC, stated, “The Forum is a testament to the Centre’s commitment to enhancing Abu Dhabi’s readiness and resilience. It aligns with our leadership’s vision and provides a platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing.”

He further remarked that the introduction of the ‘Abu Dhabi Healthcare Business Continuity Standard’ is a significant milestone in strengthening the resilience of the healthcare sector. Al Nuaimi reiterated the Centre’s dedication to promoting collaboration with involved parties to unify efforts and ensure a comprehensive approach to emergency, crisis, and disaster management. He highlighted the importance of cultivating strategic partnerships and exchanging knowledge to build resilience across sectors, empowering industries to confront challenges and prepare for the future.
