ADJD Unveils “Edmaj” Brand for Correctional Centre Products

Abu Dhabi: The Correctional and Rehabilitation Policies Committee at the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) has introduced a new brand identity, "Edmaj," for products from correctional and rehabilitation centres. This initiative is part of a sustainable strategy to enhance inmates' reintegration into society.

According to Emirates News Agency, the announcement was made during a committee meeting chaired by Counsellor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of the ADJD. The committee examined development plans for rehabilitation and production programmes, emphasizing the promotion of inmates' products under a unified identity. This move aligns with community integration goals and supports socio-economic empowerment.

Counselor Al Abri highlighted that "Edmaj" signifies a practical execution of a comprehensive strategy to advance rehabilitation programmes. The aim is to transform these programmes into platforms that equip inmates with skills and productivity, reflecting the humanitarian and social dimensions of rehabilitation.

Al Abri further stressed the centres' dedication to creating a fully integrated rehabilitative environment. This environment focuses on education, training, and production to equip inmates with knowledge and skills, enhancing their societal interaction and promoting stability, tolerance, and coexistence.

The initiative also marks the opening of a permanent exhibition at the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department's main headquarters. This exhibition showcases products made by inmates, providing a platform for the public to explore the inmates' skills and capabilities developed through vocational training programmes.

Additionally, the exhibitions offer a sustainable marketing channel for various products, such as woodwork, handicrafts, and artistic creations. This initiative aims to provide broader economic integration opportunities for inmates after their release.
