ADNEC Group’s Capital Catering Wins Best Caterer at C&IT Impact Awards 2026

Abu dhabi: Capital Catering, the food and beverage division of ADNEC Group, a Modon company, has been awarded the title of Best Caterer at the prestigious C and IT Impact Awards 2026. This accolade is a testament to the company's efforts in setting global standards for sustainability and responsible business practices within the events industry.

According to Emirates News Agency, the recognition highlights Capital Catering's exceptional achievements in delivering measurable environmental and social impact while maintaining high-quality service standards. This accomplishment reinforces its position as a global leader in sustainable catering and operational excellence.

The judges commended Capital Catering for its exemplary management of food and beverage services at the ICCA Congress 2025, which became the first international event to achieve The PLEDGE on Food Waste's Zero Food Waste to Landfill Event Standard. This milestone was described as 'an exceptional accomplishment,' showcasing the company's industry-leading approach to sustainable catering.

The ICCA Congress 2025 saw 1,115 kilograms of food diverted from landfill, with 371 kilograms eliminated through smart planning and 928 meals redistributed via the UAE's Ne'ma food waste initiative, setting a new benchmark for responsible catering at scale.

Over the past year, Capital Catering has diverted 10.46 tonnes of food waste from landfill, converted 153,233 litres of used cooking oil into biodiesel, improved electricity efficiency by 15% compared to 2023, reduced water usage per meal by 19%, and managed over 2.2 million kilograms of recyclable waste.

These initiatives contributed to a 22.1% absolute carbon reduction, as certified by Planet Mark, demonstrating Capital Catering's dedication to tangible environmental progress.

The award also acknowledges the company's commitment to operational excellence. Capital Catering operates across more than 100 locations, employs 6,800 staff, and delivers 45 million meals annually, serving major international events such as Formula 1 and ADIPEC, in addition to leading airlines and healthcare providers.
