ADNOC L and S Bolsters UAE Economy with AED1 Billion In-Country Value Contribution in 2024

Abu Dhabi: ADNOC Logistics and Services (ADNOC L and S) has announced a significant contribution of AED1 billion to the UAE economy in 2024 through its In-Country Value initiatives. Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi, CEO of ADNOC L and S, shared these insights during the "Make it in the Emirates" forum, emphasizing the company's strategic importance in industrial excellence and the empowerment of national capabilities, aligning with the UAE's vision for economic diversification.

According to Emirates News Agency, Al Masabi expressed immense pride in ADNOC L and S' debut participation at the national forum, reaffirming the company's dedication to supporting local manufacturing and industrial innovation throughout the UAE. As part of these efforts, ADNOC L and S has commissioned the construction of 31 vessels within the country, creating over 300 jobs and strengthening the UAE's industrial base. These vessels play a crucial role in personnel transportation, cargo movement, and offshore logistics support, illustrating the company's critical contribution to local production and operational resilience.

In addition to economic growth, Captain Al Masabi highlighted ADNOC L and S' integration of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence. The company has implemented the AI-powered SMARTi system, developed in collaboration with AIQ, a joint venture between ADNOC and G42. This system enhances performance in health, safety, and environmental areas through real-time monitoring and reporting of high-risk scenarios.

Al Masabi also discussed the company's investment in remote-control forklift technology, developed by Sinaha Technology and integrated into ADNOC L and S equipment. This initiative underscores successful collaboration in local innovation and smart industrial solutions. ADNOC L and S' fleet includes locally-built vessels, such as oil spill response ships, crucial for marine environmental protection and operational safety.

Collaboration with UAE-based shipbuilding companies, like Al Manzel Marine and Abu Dhabi Ship Building, reflects ADNOC L and S' commitment to advancing national industry and supporting domestic production. The showcase of REGENT's wing-in-ground effect seaglider at the forum highlights a strategic move to promote future local manufacturing. This cutting-edge hybrid vehicle, a cross between a ship and an aircraft, aims to reduce carbon emissions and enhance the sustainability of maritime transportation.

On workforce development, Al Masabi emphasized ADNOC Logistics and Services' "People First" strategy, which focuses on nurturing a skilled and diverse talent pool. The company employs over 11,000 professionals, including over 3,200 seafarers, and remains committed to empowering Emirati talent through hands-on training programs. In 2024, more than 136 trainees from 15 countries participated in these programs, with women making up nearly one-fifth of the cohort. ADNOC L and S continues to strive for increased female representation and supports the emergence of women in maritime careers.
