Abu dhabi: ADNOC Logistics and Services PLC and TA’ZIZ have announced a landmark 50-year agreement to establish the UAE’s first dedicated chemicals port at the TA’ZIZ Industrial Chemicals Zone in Al Ruwais.

According to Emirates News Agency, ADNOC LandS will take on the responsibility of building, owning, and operating the port, while TA’ZIZ will utilize the facility for the efficient export of chemicals and their derivatives.

The port, valued at over $300 million, is slated for completion in the fourth quarter of 2026. It is expected to generate more than $1.3 billion in revenue for ADNOC LandS over the initial 27 years of its operation. This initiative marks a significant step in developing the UAE’s first integrated chemicals ecosystem, with TA’ZIZ planning to produce 4.7 million tons per annum of various chemicals by the end of 2028.

Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi, CEO of ADNOC LandS, highlighted the strategic importance of the agreement, stating that the port will provide long-term, predictable revenue and support the growing chemicals ecosystem of TA’ZIZ. He emphasized that the project demonstrates ADNOC LandS’s ability to expand into high-growth sectors and deliver sustainable value for shareholders while promoting the UAE’s industrial growth.

TA’ZIZ is central to ADNOC’s vision of strengthening the UAE’s chemical value chain and fostering economic diversification through industrial development. The initiative is projected to contribute billions of dollars to the UAE economy, create thousands of jobs, and unlock numerous new end-products across industries such as construction, agriculture, and healthcare.

Mashal Al-Kindi, CEO of TA’ZIZ, remarked on the strategic location of TA’ZIZ near rapidly growing markets in Asia and Africa, which will facilitate efficient large-scale exports. She emphasized that partnering with ADNOC LandS on this vital project will ensure the port is built to provide reliable logistics services and generate revenue.

The comprehensive TA’ZIZ ecosystem, featuring centralized utilities, a tank terminal, feedstock pipelines, and shared infrastructure, is designed to help chemical producers achieve operational efficiencies, thereby reinforcing the UAE’s ambition to build a globally significant chemicals industry.
