Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council (DMC), chaired a meeting of the council to discuss the next phase of Dubai's media development, with a focus on enhancing competitiveness, efficiency, and readiness, and strengthening Dubai's position as a global hub for innovation and content creation.
According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed approved the launch of 'Dubai Business', a new business media platform under Dubai Media Incorporated. This strategic move aims to bolster Dubai's global media landscape and communicate its economic vision to international audiences, supporting the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. The initiative reflects Dubai's growing status as a leading economic center.
H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed emphasized the need for a media platform that matches Dubai's rapid growth as a global destination for investment and innovation. He stated that 'Dubai Business' will convey Dubai's economic success story globally, track global shifts, and highlight opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs worldwide. The platform is expected to deliver high-quality, data-driven content and insights that reflect Dubai's position as a leading global economic center.
The meeting also outlined the objectives of the new platform, aligned with the vision of Dubai Media Incorporated to develop specialized media and strengthen its presence in key sectors driving economic growth. The platform will offer integrated, high-quality economic content grounded in data, analysis, and forward-looking insights. Its launch demonstrates Dubai's commitment to enhancing its global media presence and reinforcing its position as a leading hub across sectors like finance, technology, and real estate.
Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, highlighted that the launch of 'Dubai Business' is part of the ongoing development of Dubai Media Incorporated. She noted Dubai's leadership in global competitiveness indicators, driven by its role as a major hub for trade and a leading center for business and innovation.
The meeting also reviewed the agenda of the upcoming 'Gaming Retreat', which aims to explore opportunities in the gaming sector with participation from leading local and global gaming companies. Nehal Badri, Secretary General of the Dubai Media Council, emphasized Dubai's commitment to building a future-ready media ecosystem that supports its economic ambitions and long-term vision for sustainable growth. She highlighted the strategic role of media in strengthening Dubai's global position and supporting investment and talent attraction in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33.
The meeting was attended by Council members including Aisha Miran, Malek Al Malek, Hala Badri, Mohammed Al Mulla, Younus Al Nasser, Arif Amiri, and Khalfan Juma Belhoul.
