Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, honoured over 100 national media organisations, Emirati media leaders, professionals, and content creators for their dedication and contributions during recent regional developments. He commended the UAE media for fostering national unity and maintaining transparency and accuracy in their reporting.
According to Emirates News Agency, the recognition took place during the official opening of the 11th Emirati Media Forum. The forum saw participation from H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority; Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the UAE National Media Authority; and Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club.
H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed emphasised the media's role in promoting national values and empowering future generations. He expressed confidence in the media's ability to support the UAE's development journey and its global leadership across fields.
The forum also addressed the UAE's response to recent regional developments, highlighting the principles guiding the nation's efforts to protect its security and achievements. Mona Al Marri noted the leadership's appreciation of the media's role in the UAE's development and in strengthening social cohesion and public trust.
Media professionals expressed gratitude for the recognition, viewing it as an encouragement for continued excellence. They reaffirmed their commitment to integrity, transparency, and accuracy in communication, especially during challenging times.
