Al Ain to Host 8th Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship for the First Time.


Al Ain: Al Ain is gearing up to host the Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship (ADXC) for the first time on 6 December 2024. This event’s 8th edition is set to bring high-level jiu-jitsu action to one of the United Arab Emirates’ most historic cities, marking a significant milestone in the championship’s history.

According to Emirates News Agency, the ADXC8 will take place at the ADNEC Centre Al Ain, promising an action-packed day of world-class bouts. The event will also include a series of ancillary activities leading up to the main competition. Organized by International Vision Sports Management (IVSM) in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), ADXC is enhancing Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a prime destination for combat sports. This event will join the ranks of other prominent sports events like UFC, Rising Stars Arabia, and UAE Warriors.

ADXC was initially introduced during Abu Dhabi Showdown Week in October 2023, featuring unique jiu-jitsu and grappling competitions
governed by custom-made rules specifically crafted for the event. Since its inception, the championship has become a vital part of the international combat sports calendar.

The championship began in Abu Dhabi with ADXC1 and ADXC2, followed by ADXC3 in Balneário Camboriú and ADXC4 in Paris. Subsequently, ADXC5 and ADXC6 returned to Abu Dhabi, while ADXC7 is scheduled to take place in Rio de Janeiro on 17 November 2024.

Recent editions of ADXC have showcased talents such as Emirati athletes Omar Al Suwadi, Mohammed Al Suwaidi, and Balqees Al Hashmi, alongside a diverse group of athletes from the wider region. As the championship continues to evolve, it introduces innovative rules designed to challenge athletes and enhance their skills. Each event offers new challenges while showcasing top talent, engaging fans and testing competitors’ adaptability.
