The Border Ports Authority announced today, Friday, the arrest of an Iraqi traveler with more than 200 visa cards in his possession intended for smuggling at the Baghdad International Airport port.
The authority said in a statement: "The Baghdad International Airport Port Directorate arrested an Iraqi traveler in his possession more than (228) visa cards, based on information from the National Intelligence Service office, and by intensifying inspection and audit procedures for goods and travelers."
It explained: "The aim of smuggling cards is to smuggle money from hard currency outside the country by withdrawing those amounts in the countries to which he intends to travel."
