Cairo: The League of Arab States has highlighted the critical need for bolstering interfaith dialogue and fostering values of understanding and mutual respect. This initiative aims to cultivate a culture of peace and facilitate peaceful coexistence among diverse peoples and societies.
According to Emirates News Agency, the League made this assertion in a statement marking World Interfaith Harmony Week, which is celebrated globally during the first week of February each year. The League's General Secretariat emphasized that this occasion serves as a global call to enhance harmony among individuals of different religions and cultures, grounded in shared human values.
The statement further explained that World Interfaith Harmony Week aligns with international efforts to reinforce principles of peaceful coexistence and mutual respect. It reaffirms the view that religious and cultural diversity is a source of strength and enrichment for humanity, contributing to stability and the development of more cohesive and supportive societies.
