Asia Pacific Cooperative Minister’s Conference Concludes in Jordan

Riyadh: In the Dead Sea region of southern Jordan, the work of the 11th annual Asia Pacific Cooperative Minister's Conference (APCMC) was concluded on Monday, held under the theme "Government-Cooperative Partnership for Cooperative Resilience, Sustainable Development and Inclusive Growth in Asia Pacific and MENA Region," with the participation of 30 countries and international organizations.Conference participants recommended strengthening dialogue between government agencies and cooperatives to portray the mutual goals, challenges, and opportunities for cooperation, and activate the development of cooperatives, in addition to emphasizing the crucial role of cooperatives in promoting comprehensive development.In the final statement, the participants also recommended the need to align efforts with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to address global challenges, boost partnership for governments and cooperatives for comprehensive sustainable development, promote cooperative identity and raise awareness about the cooperative business model, its values and principles.Participants called for encouraging regional and international cooperation between governments, cooperatives, and other actors, and creating an enabling environment for the resilience and growth of cooperatives in the Asia-Pacific region.The participants also recommended supporting cooperative societies in Palestine, especially in the Gaza Strip, and working to stop the war there amid Israeli aggression.Source: Saudi Press Agency
