Dubai: The American University of Sharjah’s (AUS) College of Architecture, Art and Design (CAAD) debuted its Six Degrees Offsite Exhibition at Dubai Design Week from 5th to 10th November 2024. This exhibition is an eagerly awaited event by the UAE’s design community as it showcases the work of graduating CAAD students.
According to Emirates News Agency, Six Degrees, which originally took place in June 2024, is now being presented for the first time at Dubai Design Week. This special traveling edition features a curated selection of projects by Spring 2024 graduates, who have now transitioned into CAAD alumni and are beginning to make their mark in the design industry. The exhibition provides an opportunity for the creative community and industry professionals to engage with the impactful work of these emerging talents.
In addition to the exhibition, Dubai Design Week will feature several projects and artworks from AUS alumni, current faculty, and students. This highlights the significant contributions of AU
S’ architecture and design community to the region. Dr. Varkki Pallathucheril, Dean of CAAD, emphasized the transformative experience students undergo at AUS, which prepares them to lead or establish prominent design and architecture practices in the region. He expressed gratitude to Dubai Design Week for offering a platform for students to share their work with the wider design community.
The Six Degrees Offsite exhibition is available for viewing at Building 6, Dubai Design District, from 10:00 to 22:00 each day. In conjunction with the exhibition, AUS is also organizing two talks at the same location.
