Manama:The Kingdom of Bahrain has expressed its approval of the United Arab Emirates' successful mediation efforts between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, which have resulted in a new prisoner exchange involving 540 prisoners from both countries.
According to Wam, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain described the prisoner exchange as a positive and constructive humanitarian step. This initiative is seen as supporting de-escalation efforts and enhancing the prospects for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing Ukraine crisis.
In a statement carried by Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs praised the UAE's diplomatic and humanitarian efforts. These efforts have been instrumental in the release of a total of 8,537 prisoners through 27 mediation efforts since the Ukraine crisis began.
The Ministry reiterated Bahrain's support for all regional and international initiatives aimed at ending the war through dialogue and peaceful means. It emphasized the importance of alleviating the humanitarian consequences of the conflict and promoting security, stability, and lasting peace at both regional and international levels.
