Dubai: Dubai Land Department (DLD), in collaboration with the Community Development Authority (CDA), has concluded a series of interactive workshops as part of the second phase of the Barwa Programme, involving 169 senior citizens and People of Determination.
According to Emirates News Agency, the workshops were organized to enhance real estate awareness, introduce dedicated initiatives and services to the target groups, and strengthen direct engagement, thereby improving the quality of life and reflecting the Dubai Government's commitment to proactive, people-centric services. The programme saw a significant increase in participants' satisfaction, with overall satisfaction rising from 59% to 90% at the Al Barsha Community Centre and from 50% to 90% at Thukher - Al Wasl and Thukher - Al Khawaneej. The programme achieved an impressive 94% customer happiness rate, reflecting its success in meeting objectives and enhancing the overall beneficiary experience.
The workshops aimed to introduce the Barwa Programme's community-focused objectives and showcased real estate services designed for senior citizens and People of Determination. They addressed inquiries about real estate services, regulatory procedures, and relevant legislation, allowing participants to gain a clearer understanding of available services and access them through digital channels or private-sector partnerships under the 'Al Hasela' Initiative.
High engagement marked the workshops, with improvements in participants' understanding of real estate services. They increased awareness of the Barwa Programme and generated greater interest in its initiatives, reflected in quality discussions and inquiries. This direct engagement enabled DLD and CDA to better understand the needs, expectations, and suggestions of the target groups.
The Barwa Programme, the region's first sustainable social and humanitarian real estate initiative, empowers senior citizens and People of Determination to manage their real estate affairs with greater independence through an integrated ecosystem of field-based, digital, and advisory services. These include initiatives such as Al Barzah, Al Karani, Al Tarash, Al Mersal, Al Kaitoob, and Al Hasela, alongside dedicated real estate awareness programmes.
The workshop series concluded with a joint session involving DLD and CDA teams to review outcomes, assess impact, and exchange insights and best practices. The session explored the real estate-related needs of senior citizens and People of Determination to support the development of more integrated, inclusive, and customer-centric services.
Key outcomes of the workshop included an agreement to strengthen institutional collaboration and review feedback and recommendations to enhance future services and initiatives. Participants explored opportunities to expand joint initiatives, further develop real estate awareness content, and strengthen communication and support channels for senior citizens and People of Determination.
The outcomes emphasized the importance of regularly delivering real estate awareness programmes, simplifying content for target groups, and strengthening integration across government entities to enhance the customer experience and deliver more inclusive, accessible, and seamless services.
The Barwa Programme serves as a successful model of collaboration between DLD and CDA, combining government efforts to deliver services that are responsive to community needs, enhance quality of life, and create lasting social impact. It supports the objectives of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 by empowering senior citizens and People of Determination, promoting social inclusion, and improving access to government services, contributing to a more cohesive, happier, and sustainable society.
