Creators HQ and 500 Global Propel Creator-Led Startups to Over $130 Million Valuation

Dubai: Creators HQ, the pioneering content creator hub in the UAE and the Middle East, has partnered with 500 Global, a leading Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm, to launch the Creators Ventures Accelerator. This initiative, part of the second edition of the Creators Ventures program, is fostering creator-led startups that boast a collective valuation exceeding US$130 million.

According to Emirates News Agency, the 10-week Creators Ventures Accelerator concluded with a final presentation at the fourth edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit. Organized by the UAE Government Media Office from January 9th to 11th, the summit, themed 'Content for Good', attracted over 30,000 global attendees, including more than 15,000 content creators and over 500 speakers.

The accelerator program's finalists, James Jones, CEO and Co-founder of Bump, a creators fintech platform, and Yagmur Aydemir, CEO and Founder of the community-powered stories IP engine Kami, have moved to the final stage and are now under consideration for funding from Creators HQ.

The Creators Ventures Accelerator saw over 1,100 applications from content creators and technology startup founders across more than 70 countries. Following a competitive selection process, 21 creators and founders were chosen to participate. This cohort collectively serves a community of more than 20 million followers, subscribers, and users across various platforms.

Throughout the 10-week program, which commenced in October, the selected companies engaged in a hybrid business-building and acceleration curriculum designed to expedite their growth, culminating in a showcase at the 1 Billion Followers Summit.

Alia AlHammadi, Vice Chairperson of the UAE Government Media Office and CEO of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, congratulated the ventures Bump and Kami for qualifying for funding consideration. She emphasized the significance of the creative ideas and visions that reflect the ambition of content creators in leveraging digital creativity to develop high-quality ventures with impactful developmental and social outcomes.

Courtney Powell, COO at 500 Global, highlighted the emerging trend of creators as entrepreneurs, noting the global presence of 50 million creators, a number projected to grow by 10-20 percent annually over the next five years. Powell emphasized the importance of business fundamentals, community engagement, and quality content for future commercial success.

The Creators Ventures Accelerator features companies like Bump, Bupple, dromOS, Echooo AI, and several others, including notable names such as Geeva, Hypesociety, InfluSense, Intuition Intelligence, Mindfull, MoonTech, and Neura Coach.
