Abu dhabi: The Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) is joining forces with Abu Dhabi Hospitality Academy - Les Roches for the first time to launch the 2025 edition of its Tourism Youth Summer Camp. This initiative aims to develop Emirati talent in the fields of tourism and hospitality.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Abu Dhabi Hospitality Academy is managed by Les Roches, an internationally recognized institution in hospitality and leisure education. The Academy aims to provide skills and academic knowledge necessary to nurture talent in the UAE and the region.
The two-week program, targeting Emirati students aged 17 to 21, will run from 14th to 24th July 2025. It focuses on developing future leaders in tourism and hospitality through practical training and cultural engagement. The collaboration with Abu Dhabi Hospitality Academy - Les Roches integrates academic and practical expertise with elements of Emirati culture and heritage, combining global hospitality standards with local traditions.
Saleh Al Geziry, Director General for Tourism at DCT Abu Dhabi, emphasized the growing impact of the Tourism Youth Summer Camp. He highlighted the partnership with Abu Dhabi Hospitality Academy - Les Roches as a means to empower the next generation of leaders by combining global expertise with the Emirati tradition of hospitality.
Georgette Davey, Managing Director for Abu Dhabi Hospitality Academy - Les Roches, stated that the partnership with DCT Abu Dhabi is more than just a summer camp. It serves as a catalyst for future careers, combining Swiss hospitality excellence with the UAE's cultural heritage to empower young Emiratis.
The program will introduce participants to six foundational disciplines in hospitality: Front Office operations, Culinary Arts, Barista Skills, Housekeeping, Hospitality Marketing, and Service Excellence in Fine Dining. The curriculum is designed to build essential skills such as teamwork, customer service, and problem-solving while fostering an appreciation for the UAE's identity in the global tourism landscape.
Through immersive workshops and industry engagement, students will gain a deep understanding of Abu Dhabi's tourism and cultural landscape, aligning with the UAE's national goals for talent development.
