DEWA and ENOC Join Forces to Boost EV Fast-Charging Infrastructure Across Dubai

Dubai: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has signed a contract with ENOC Group to expand the electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging network at ENOC service stations across Dubai. The initiative aims to enhance infrastructure to meet rising electric vehicle demand.

According to Emirates News Agency, the contract was signed in the presence of Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, and Hussain Sultan Lootah, Acting Group CEO of ENOC. The agreement was executed by Waleed bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence at DEWA, and Zaid Alqufaidi, Managing Director of ENOC Retail. Senior officials from both organisations attended the signing ceremony, which took place during the 27th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2025), organised by DEWA at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Al Tayer highlighted the collaboration’s role in enhancing Dubai’s green mobility journey by building an integrated infrastructure for charging electric vehicles. This, he noted, contributes to reducing carbon emissions and achieving the goals of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050, and the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy.

He further explained that the contract with ENOC forms part of the EV Green Charger initiative launched in 2014 to support the growth in electric vehicles. DEWA aims to establish the foundations of a sustainable green economy in partnership with various sectors, strengthening Dubai’s global competitiveness.

Hussain Lootah commented on the partnership with DEWA as a strategic milestone in advancing the UAE’s green agenda and positioning Dubai as a global hub for sustainability and innovation. By expanding the fast-charging network for electric vehicles across service stations, ENOC aims to meet customer needs and contribute to a sustainable future.

Lootah also noted ENOC’s continuous investment in innovation and smart mobility solutions, aligning with the goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and the nation’s visionary leadership.

Through the EV Green Charger initiative, DEWA currently provides over 1,500 charging points across the emirate in collaboration with partners from both public and private sectors.
