DEWA and Fortinet Collaborate to Strengthen Cybersecurity and Digital Transformation


Sharjah: Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), met with Ken Xie, Founder, Chairman of the Board, and Chief Executive Officer of Fortinet, to enhance cooperation in cybersecurity and digital transformation across the UAE.



According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting focused on enhancing cybersecurity resilience and accelerating digital transformation, particularly within energy and utility networks. Discussions highlighted the significance of advanced cybersecurity platforms in safeguarding national infrastructure and supporting smart city initiatives.



Key attendees included Marwan Bin Haidar, Executive Vice President of Innovation and the Future, Hussain Lootah, Executive Vice President of Transmission Power at DEWA, and Mohammed Bin Sulaiman, CEO of Moro Hub, part of Digital DEWA. Al Tayer emphasized DEWA’s commitment to the UAE’s digital agenda and its efforts to address technological risks and opportunities. He noted DEWA’s alignment with the Dubai Cyber Security Strategy through the adoption of world-class systems to protect data and maintain privacy.



Al Tayer further mentioned DEWA’s implementation of international standards in information security and governance, with robust policies in place to manage cybersecurity risks. The meeting also reviewed innovations in cybersecurity, including AI-enabled threat intelligence, crucial for protecting digital infrastructure.



Ken Xie commended DEWA’s leadership in digital transformation and its proactive cybersecurity strategies, expressing Fortinet’s readiness for future collaborative initiatives.
