Dubai: The Russia-UAE Business Council has revealed the agenda and key participants for the inaugural UAE-Russia Business Forum, set to occur in Dubai on December 10. This event is organized by the Russia-UAE Business Council with support from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Roscongress Foundation, and the Marathon Investment Group.
According to Emirates News Agency, the forum will coincide with the 12th meeting of the Intergovernmental Russia-UAE Commission on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation, also slated for December 10 in Dubai. Bilateral relations between Russia and the UAE have been strengthening, with considerable growth in trade and expanding joint projects in sectors like manufacturing, transportation, logistics, agriculture, digital technologies, healthcare, and investment.
Russian Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov emphasized the significance of the UAE as a key economic partner in the Middle East and highlighted the forum as a priority initiative. He noted the potential for mutual investments and joint projects, with a focus on technological cooperation and opportunities across various economic sectors.
Anton Kobyakov, an Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, remarked on the solid foundation being built for long-term cooperation between Russia and the UAE. He highlighted improvements in trade and economic indicators, increased investment activity, and new projects in non-resource sectors. Kobyakov stated that the forum would enhance bilateral cooperation and facilitate new initiatives.
The forum will gather leading companies from Russia and the UAE, alongside investment funds, tech startups, and logistics operators, to discuss strategic partnerships. A key feature of the forum will be a plenary session titled “Architecture of Long-Term Growth: New Opportunities for Both Countries.” Alexander Vinokurov, Chairman of the Russia-UAE Business Council, will discuss strategies for unlocking economic and business potential.
Prominent participants will include Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Russian Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov, the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, CEO of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office Badr Al-Olama, and CEO of Gazprom-Media Holding Alexander Zharov.
The forum will kick off with a panel discussion, “Russia-UAE Innovation Track: A New Era of Technological Partnership,” featuring Andrey Shket, Dmitry Markov, Paul Dawalibi, and Vyacheslav Kubaev. This session will introduce the first accelerator program for developing a growth ecosystem for Russian tech companies and startups in the UAE.
Investment cooperation will be a central focus, with a session titled “Strategic Co-Investment Dialogue,” hosted by Investment Majlis. This session aims to facilitate dialogue among strategic investors and specialized funds while presenting new project support tools.
The business program will conclude with a panel discussion titled “Russia and the UAE: Shaping the Ecosystem of Trade and Logistics of the Future.” Speakers such as Ramy Jallad and Vladislav Bakhtenko will discuss developing export corridors, diversifying trade flows, and creating sustainable multimodal solutions between Russia and the UAE.
