An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale struck on Monday the Khuzestan province in southern Iran.According to the Iranian Seismological Center, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 14 km, at 32.72 degrees north latitude and 48.99 degrees east longitude.There have been no reports of material or human losses as a result of the earthquake so far.Iran is highly prone to earthquakes due to its location in an active seismic zone, the most violent of which was a 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck northwest of the country in 1990, killing 37,000 and wounding 100,000.Source: Qatar News Agency
