A 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck Wednesday the South Sandwich Islands, a British overseas territory in the South Atlantic Ocean.The US Geological Survey (USGS) said that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 35 km.There were no reports of material damage or human losses as a result of the earthquake.The South Sandwich Islands are an archipelago that forms part of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, which are an overseas territory of the UK.
