According to Emirates News Agency, the latest figures from the country's surveillance data indicate 9,144 confirmed cases and 4,410 deaths, as reported by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control on Wednesday.

The outbreak, attributed to the Bundibugyo virus, has reached unprecedented levels in DR Congo's history. Health authorities are expressing concern over ongoing challenges such as insecurity, population displacement, and difficulties in tracing contacts, all of which are hindering efforts to control the spread of the virus.
