Egypt, Jordan Urge Immediate Reconstruction of Gaza Without Displacing Palestinians

Cairo: Egypt and Jordan have underscored the urgent need to commence the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip while ensuring that Palestinians are not displaced from their land. This consensus was reached during a meeting between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Jordan's Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Crown Prince of Jordan expressed full support for Egypt's initiatives to develop a reconstruction plan for Gaza. He emphasized the importance of allowing Palestinians to remain on their land during the reconstruction process. Furthermore, the Crown Prince reaffirmed Jordan's backing for the upcoming Emergency Arab Summit on the Palestinian issue, which Egypt is set to host. He stressed the importance of achieving an Arab consensus on the matter.

A spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the discussions also covered the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories. The talks reviewed Egypt's efforts to enforce a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, facilitate the exchange of hostages and detainees, and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid.
