Etihad Airways and Tourism Authority of Thailand Forge Partnership to Boost Tourism

Abu Dhabi: Etihad Airways has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with the Tourism Authority of Thailand aimed at strengthening the relationship between the Kingdom of Thailand and the national airline of the United Arab Emirates. The agreement was formalized at the Arabian Travel Market 2025.

According to Emirates News Agency, the agreement seeks to promote tourism to Thailand through Etihad Airways' expansive global network. The MoC aligns with Etihad's mission to offer extraordinary travel experiences, with both organizations set to promote high-quality travel experiences in Thailand through joint activities and promotions.

Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, emphasized Thailand's significance as a market for the airline, highlighted by their expansion into the region with two new destinations this year. He noted that the Memorandum of Cooperation with the Tourism Authority of Thailand aims to drive leisure travel, further strengthening Etihad's presence and commitment to delivering exceptional travel experiences.

Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, expressed that the partnership with Etihad marks a pivotal step in enhancing Thailand's status as a preferred global destination. With Etihad's extensive network and premium service, the collaboration is expected to attract more travelers to explore Thailand's culture, natural beauty, and wellness offerings, aiming to deliver memorable experiences and boost Thailand's year-round appeal to international visitors.

Last year, Etihad announced the addition of two new destinations in Thailand as part of its plan to launch 16 new routes this year. The airline will commence operations to Krabi and Chiang Mai in October and November, respectively, enhancing its presence in the Thai market alongside existing routes to Bangkok and Phuket.
