Exceptional conclusion of the first Global Media Congress

ABU DHABI, Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, the first edition of the Global Media Congress concluded here today.

The event, which was held under the theme, “Shaping the Future of the Media Sector,” was organised by the ADNEC Group, in partnership with the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

The first edition of the congress attracted over 13,656 visitors, with the participation of more than 192 media establishments from 42 countries and over 1,200 media experts and specialists.

The event also witnessed the signing of over 10 cooperation agreements between local and international media establishments. A number of media innovations were also launched during the three-day event.

Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, Director-General of WAM and Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of the Global Media Congress, lauded the support and patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mansour for the success of the international media gathering, noting that the event has enhanced the pioneering international stature of the UAE as the capital of shaping the future of many sectors, including the media sector.

He also commended the efforts of action teams to promote the message of the congress and enhance its stature as a pioneering international media platform for shaping the media landscape and for hosting people with minds, experiences and skills from different countries of the world under one umbrella in order to formulate new media concepts that keep pace with the successive changes and the technological and technical progress that the world is witnessing.

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of ADNEC, expressed his pride at the spectacular success of the first edition of the Global Media Congress. He highlighted its crucial international role in gathering a galaxy of leaders, pioneers, influencers and specialists in the media sector, and generating recommendations to promote the local and international media.

Al Dhaheri said that the event’s first edition attracted over 13,556 participants, which highlighted the prominent stature of Abu Dhabi as a leading business tourism destination. He noted the excellent capacities of ADNEC in organising and hosting local and international events. He also thanked WAM and lauded the strategic constructive partnership between the two establishments. He also thanked other stakeholders behind the event’s success.

The first edition of the Global Media Congress attracted significant local, regional and international attention, and its agenda included 40 panel discussions and over 30 workshops attended by 162 participants.
