The Fatwa Symposium at the Two Holy Mosques and Its Role in Providing Ease for Pilgrims on Wednesday held its third session on Saudi Arabia's efforts to establish a fatwa methodology and enhance its role within the Two Holy Mosques.The session was chaired by Sheikh Abdullah bin Sulaiman Al-Manea, Advisor at the Royal Court and member of the Council of Senior Scholars. The symposium is taking place at the Prophet's Mosque in the presence of several scholars.The symposium is organized by the Presidency for Religious Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, in collaboration with the General Presidency for Scholarly Research and Ifta, and media partnership with the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).During the session, Sheikh Abdulbari bin Awad Al-Thubaiti, the Imam and Khatib at the Prophet's Mosque, highlighted the key features and impact of fatwa in the Two Holy Mosques, emphasizing their enhanced status.He also discussed the significance of lessons held there, along with efforts in alleviating har dship, combating extremism, promoting intellectual security, and preserving faith.Sheikh Khalid bin Sulaiman Al-Muhanna, another Imam and Khatib at the Prophet's Mosque, addressed the impact of fatwa in achieving obedience and unity among Muslims. He underscored the utmost importance of fostering unity and aligning their voices with the truth.Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammed Al-Khudairi, the Vice President of religious affairs at the Prophet's Mosque, showcased the efforts of the Presidency for Religious Affairs in guiding inquirers at the Two Holy Mosques.Al-Khudairi highlighted the increasing influx to the Two Holy Mosques, particularly under Vision 2030 that aims to raise the number of visitors to 5 million pilgrims and 30 million Umrah performers annually.He noted that this growing influx demonstrates the importance of the presence of a competent body capable of accommodating their numbers and meeting their diverse religious service needs, which is the purpose of establishing the Religious Affairs Presi dency.He provided an overview of the program for answering inquiries from visitors at the Two Holy Mosques, with services provided by scholars around the clock through various accessible means.Visitors can access these services through guidance offices, internal telephones throughout the corridors of the Two Holy Mosques, toll-free contact numbers, and a guiding robot.Al-Khudairi indicated that the program has 84 scholars at the Grand Mosque and 20 at the Prophet's Mosque with translation services offered between inquirers and responders in more than 10 languages.Source: Saudi Press Agency
