Abu dhabi: The Federal Youth Authority (FYA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Erada Centre for Treatment and Rehabilitation in Dubai, with the goal of empowering youth recovering from addiction and enhancing their integration into society. This agreement seeks to broaden opportunities for their involvement in youth programmes and initiatives, while developing cooperative pathways to improve their quality of life and strengthen their societal presence.
According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU was signed by Khalid Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director of the FYA, and Abdulrazaq Ameri, Chief Executive Officer of the Erada Centre, in the presence of officials and representatives from both organizations. Khalid Al Nuaimi emphasized that this partnership will foster positive changes in young people's lives, reflecting the UAE's commitment to reinforcing national collaborations and consolidating efforts across various sectors. He stated that the approach is based on integration, the exchange of expertise, and utilizing available resources from different entities to create comprehensive and sustainable solutions that address community needs and support development goals.
Al Nuaimi explained that the agreement represents a key step in expanding initiatives for youth recovering from addiction, aiding their social integration and supporting sustainable recovery. It aims to open new avenues for participation, volunteering, capacity building, and future planning, aligning with the National Youth Agenda 2031's 'Quality of Life' pillar, which focuses on empowering youth and enhancing their wellbeing.
Abdulrazaq Ameri highlighted the MoU's significance in consolidating national efforts to support youth in recovery, empowering them to resume their lives with confidence by offering meaningful opportunities for skill development and active societal participation. Ameri stressed that recovery extends beyond treatment, involving the creation of sustainable pathways that enable individuals to achieve their ambitions and contribute to community development. He noted that this partnership aligns with the Centre's vision of supporting quality of life and enhancing social integration for beneficiaries, thus investing in the energy and capabilities of the youth to contribute to a more prosperous future.
The MoU aims to offer volunteering, training, qualification, and community participation opportunities for youth benefiting from the Erada Centre's services, supporting their social integration, capability development, and positive societal contributions. It includes the establishment of the Erada Centre Youth Council to enhance youth participation in the Centre's work environment and services. Additionally, both parties will organize joint training programmes, workshops, and awareness campaigns, focusing on mental health awareness and addiction prevention, while disseminating joint awareness messages across digital and media platforms.
