First Emirates Hematology Forum Advocates for Advanced Genetic Testing and Multidisciplinary Care

Abu Dhabi:Participants at the First Emirates Hematology Forum, which concluded yesterday evening in Abu Dhabi, emphasized the need for expanded use of molecular, genetic, and biological testing to guide individualized treatment decisions. Specialists also advocated for enhanced patient monitoring protocols to proactively manage potential complications and side effects associated with advanced cellular and targeted treatments.

According to Emirates News Agency, the forum's attendees highlighted the importance of integrating clinical pharmacists and multidisciplinary medical teams throughout the patient journey to optimize care coordination, safety, and clinical continuity across hematology, stem cell transplantation, laboratory medicine, and specialist nursing.

Moreover, the forum explored opportunities to strengthen cooperation with academic institutions and patient support organizations, such as the Rahma Cancer Patient Care Society, to bridge the gap between specialized medical treatment and holistic social and community care. The event brought together hematologists, haemato-oncologists, transfusion medicine specialists, laboratory professionals, medical trainees, specialist nurses, and allied healthcare professionals, providing a collaborative platform for exchanging clinical experience and refining multidisciplinary treatment decisions.

Dr. Mouza Al Ameri, President of the Emirates Oncology and Radiotherapy Association (EORA), remarked that the inaugural Emirates Hematology Forum served as a valuable platform for specialists and healthcare institutions worldwide to exchange knowledge and advance the field of hematology. She noted that the forum received support from regulators and healthcare partners, highlighting Abu Dhabi and the UAE's progress in precision medicine and advanced healthcare technologies.

The forum, organized by Wiredin Events with support from healthcare and pharmaceutical partners, forms part of EORA's commitment to advance scientific exchange and collaboration among specialists, evaluate clinical practices, and champion cutting-edge medical developments across the UAE.
