The Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs, Engineer Hisham Sharaf Abdullah, met today,Wednesday, with the Director of Operations and Advocacy at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), Ms. Edem Wosornu, and her accompanying delegation, which is currently visiting the capital, Sana'a.During the meeting, issues related to the humanitarian situation in the Republic of Yemen were discussed, in light of the aggression and siege it has been experiencing for nine years.In the meeting, Minister Sharaf explained that the humanitarian situation in Yemen is still deteriorating as a result of the aggression and comprehensive blockade since March 26, 2015.He described the situation as the worst human-made humanitarian disaster, indicating that the deterioration of the humanitarian situation is not limited to a limited area, but rather includes most of the provinces of the Republic.The caretaker Foreign Minister called on the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Human itarian Affairs (OCHA) to strengthen its presence in coordination with the rest of the United Nations organizations, programs and agencies and to provide more assistance to several sectors in many provinces, especially those displaced from their areas and those who lost their jobs.For her part, Ms. Wosornu explained that the humanitarian situation in the Republic of Yemen occupies a priority on the United Nations agenda.Source: Yemen News Agency
