Abu dhabi: The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has introduced the Labaih Initiative, a program specifically designed to provide senior citizens with tailored access to its services, facilitating the completion of tax-related applications, requests, and compliance obligations. The initiative aims to ensure these processes are handled smoothly, efficiently, and with utmost respect for privacy.
According to Emirates News Agency, the initiative's services will be delivered through the FTA's Call Centre and Taxpayer Support Centres. These centres currently assist taxable persons in fulfilling their tax obligations and related requests with ease and efficiency, fostering an environment that encourages collaboration and voluntary compliance.
The FTA emphasized that the Labaih Initiative offers customized processes and approaches to meet the unique needs and expectations of senior citizens. This effort aligns with the FTA's strategy to enhance its corporate social responsibility role and improve the community's quality of life.
Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director-General of the FTA, stated that the Labaih Initiative is part of the authority's efforts to improve service delivery efficiency and provide senior citizens with appropriate facilitation. This initiative aligns with the directives of the wise leadership to ensure the highest levels of care, support, and quality of life for senior citizens, recognizing their valuable contributions to society and national development.
He further explained that the initiative aims to offer innovative tax process solutions, enabling senior citizens to access FTA services with clarity and speed while respecting their privacy. This reduces the effort required throughout their service journey, providing the necessary support and guidance to enhance their service experience.
The Director-General emphasized the FTA's commitment to creating a tax environment that respects and protects the privacy of senior citizens. This initiative contributes to the UAE's vision for social care, aiming to develop innovative models that empower senior citizens to access FTA services effectively and easily.
The Labaih Initiative includes features such as the Direct Line service, where a specialized team at the FTA's Taxpayer Support Office responds to inquiries from senior citizens and follows up on their requests using simple and efficient procedures. Additionally, the initiative offers priority access through the FTA's Call Centre and a Fast-Track service at the Taxpayer Support Centre to expedite processing of applications and transactions.
The FTA also provides electronic access to documents, allowing senior citizens to view them directly on the FTA's website without needing to visit the Taxpayer Support Centre. Furthermore, a range of awareness activities, including workshops and introductory sessions tailored for senior citizens, are offered to enhance tax awareness and understanding of tax legislation, procedures, and services provided by the FTA.
