Muscat: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the UAE, engaged in a meeting with His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman. This meeting was part of Sheikh Hamdan's official visit to Oman, where he led a high-level delegation to discuss the robust ties between the UAE and Oman.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting underscored the significance of mutual visits in enhancing cooperation and discovering new avenues for shared prosperity. Both leaders emphasized the positive momentum in relations, highlighting their commitment to common goals and promoting Gulf collaboration across key sectors.
Sheikh Hamdan reiterated the UAE's dedication to deepening cooperation with Oman, capitalizing on the historical and fraternal bonds between the two nations. He expressed optimism that bilateral relations would continue to thrive, driven by a shared vision and collaborative efforts to build a prosperous future.
The discussions also focused on enhancing defence cooperation through increased coordination and joint initiatives between the armed forces of both countries. The leaders stressed the importance of exchanging military expertise and improving the technical skills and practical capabilities of personnel to achieve operational excellence in line with global standards.
In addition, the meeting covered a range of issues of mutual interest, including key regional and international developments. Both sides highlighted the necessity for enhanced international cooperation to secure lasting peace and ensure regional security and stability.
The meeting was attended by several key military officials, including Lieutenant General Ibrahim Nasser Al Alawi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defence; Major General Hamdan Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Head of Military Operations and Strategic Planning; Major General Yousef Al Helami, Commander of the Land Forces; and Major General Khalifa Rashid Al Hamli, Director of the Office of the Minister of Defence.
