Hazza bin Zayed Engages with ACTVET Delegation to Enhance Vocational Training in Al Ain


Al Ain: H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, recently welcomed a delegation from the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET), led by Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, Director-General of ACTVET. The meeting was held at the Ruler Representative’s Court in Al Ain Region.



According to Emirates News Agency, the delegation briefed H.H. Sheikh Hazza on various initiatives and programmes implemented by ACTVET across Al Ain Region. These initiatives aim to train and prepare national talent by enhancing their technical and professional skills to meet the current and future demands of the local labour market.



The discussions also covered the centre’s strategic vision and ongoing plans, including the expansion of Applied Technology Schools and the development of academic programmes at Fatima College of Health Sciences, Abu Dhabi Polytechnic, and the Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute (ADVETI). The meeting further explored efforts to integrate artificial intelligence solutions and broaden the scope of evening programmes.



H.H. Sheikh Hazza highlighted the importance of technical and vocational education in fostering national talent across key sectors, promoting a culture of innovation, and advancing a knowledge-based economy. He underscored the need to adopt advanced technological solutions in line with the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, aiming to fortify the UAE’s leadership in this rapidly evolving field, while supporting the empowerment of Emirati youth and their role in sustainable economic and social development in the Al Ain Region.



His Highness reaffirmed the importance of offering diverse academic and training programmes that align with the evolving needs of the local labour market. These programmes aim to provide students with integrated learning environments, equipping them with high-quality skills, enhancing their future readiness, and empowering them to contribute to the development of national high-priority sectors.



Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi emphasized the centre’s continuous efforts to advance technical and vocational education and training across Abu Dhabi. He noted that the centre addresses the needs of the local labour market by equipping a skilled new generation of young national talent, driven by the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, modern teaching methodologies, and curricula, along with the attraction of top local and international expertise to support and enhance the educational system.



Dr. Al Shamsi expressed gratitude to the wise leadership for its ongoing support of the technical and vocational education and training sector, reaffirming the centre’s commitment to advancing its programmes and initiatives in line with national aspirations and future development goals.



The Abu Dhabi Technical and Vocational Education and Training Centre was established in 2010 to oversee this strategic sector across Abu Dhabi. Its aim is to prepare national talent in key technical and vocational fields and equip them to contribute effectively to sustainable development goals across vital sectors, in alignment with the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.
