Abu dhabi: Hedayah Centre and the Emirates Scholar Centre for Research and Studies recently reviewed approaches to scientific publishing and research in the fields of rehabilitation and counter-extremism. Maqsoud Kruse, Chairman of the International Steering Board of Hedayah, welcomed a delegation from the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Scholar Centre to discuss joint research collaboration and the development of scientific research mechanisms.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting highlighted the importance of integrating efforts among specialised research institutions. The discussions focused on building strategic partnerships to support and advance scientific output in accordance with globally recognised academic publishing standards. A key objective was to enhance the visibility of research outputs across international libraries and scientific platforms.
The meeting also addressed the intellectual and cultural challenges facing the world today, stressing the need for academic and awareness programmes to counter extremism. Both parties emphasised the importance of well-documented scientific and research foundations in these efforts. Opportunities for collaboration in publishing peer-reviewed studies and scientific journals were also explored, underscoring the vital role of research institutions in shaping a robust scientific discourse.
The discussions align with the vision of the UAE's leadership to promote a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence. The collaboration aims to build more aware and open societies, strengthen the global presence of Arab research, and reinforce the role of research institutions in supporting evidence-based policymaking. At the conclusion of the visit, the Emirates Scholar Centre delegation presented Kruse with copies of the International Journal of Civilisations Studies and Tolerance Sciences, as well as outcomes from the 2nd edition of the International Dialogue of Civilisations and Tolerance Conference.
Both parties reaffirmed the importance of ongoing coordination and exchanging expertise to support initiatives that position the UAE as a global capital for tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
