Sharjah: The Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) in Sharjah has officially launched the Seagull New Horizon offshore and Maritime's new 162,000-square-foot facility. The new establishment marks a significant investment by Singapore-based Seagull Pte Ltd, a global leader in maritime services and ship repair.According to Emirates News Agency, the launch underscores HFZA's position as a key hub for industrial companies aiming for regional and global expansion. The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of HFZA, and Maniam Babu, Founder and CEO of Seagull, along with senior representatives from both organisations. The facility is designed to support ship repair, maintenance, and marine structure development, further solidifying HFZA's reputation in the maritime sector.Seagull's presence in HFZA aims to bolster the company's footprint in the UAE's maritime industry, with a focus on the oil, gas, and wind energy sectors. HFZA's established reputation for marine industry innovation is expected to help Seagull attract offshore oil companies and international shipowners. The facility is equipped to provide a variety of specialized services, including ship repairs at anchor, hydraulic and mechanical maintenance, marine equipment development, electrical installations, and structural fabrications for offshore, subsea, and wind farms.Saud Salim Al Mazrouei highlighted that Seagull's new facility adds considerable value to the investments Hamriyah Free Zone seeks to attract. The decisio n by Seagull to set up in Hamriyah Free Zone was influenced by the extensive facilities available to investors, including modern infrastructure tailored for the marine industries sector.
