Two evenings were organized at the center of Al-Lahiyah District and the fishing port in Al-Khubah city, Hodeida province, to introduce the comprehensive national marine and economic monitoring project to preserve fish and marine wealth.The two evenings, which were organized by the Red Sea fish sector and the Tihama Coast Association, in coordination with the Supreme Agricultural and Fisheries Committee, Fisheries Resources Ministry , the local authority in the province, the naval forces and the Coast Guard Service, focused on raising awareness among fishermen.During the two evenings, in the presence of the Deputy Director of Associations and Cooperatives at the Ministry of Fisheries, Murad Tarmoum, the Director of Ports and Centers at the Fisheries Authority, Aziz Atini, and the President of Tihama Coast Association, Muhammad Najib, speeches were delivered that emphasized the importance of enhancing awareness among fishermen of the importance of preserving fish wealth.It reviewed aspects of the nation al monitoring project and its role in protecting marine life, spreading awareness among fishermen about sound fishing methods, and the controls that the project will include to achieve sustainable fish development.The two evenings included awareness-raising presentations on illegal fishing methods, the dangers of illegal equipment , fishing nets on fish wealth, and the collective responsibility for preserving them.The evening was attended by the Director of Control and Inspection at the Fisheries Authority, Muhammad Abdel Jalil, the Fisheries Extension Officer, Salah Thabet, a number of fishermen and workers in the fishery sector.Source: Yemen News Agency
