Hunger Worsening in Gaza: UNRWA Warns of Deteriorating Situation

Gaza city: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has issued a grave warning regarding the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The agency has highlighted that essential resources, including time, food, and medicine, are depleting rapidly, and secure locations for refuge have vanished.

According to Emirates News Agency, UNRWA has emphasized that hunger is rapidly escalating across the Gaza Strip. There are increasing reports of individuals collapsing in the streets due to severe food shortages. The situation is becoming dire, with urgent calls for international intervention to address the growing needs of the population.

In a related development, 19 Palestinian civilians were reported martyred, with several others injured, following a series of Israeli airstrikes targeting multiple areas across the Gaza Strip. The strikes occurred in the early hours, further exacerbating the already critical situation in the region.

Local sources have indicated that at least 15 Palestinians lost their lives and others were injured when Israeli warplanes targeted tents housing displaced families in the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. The majority of those affected were members of the Abu Khadija family, whose tent near the Taiba Towers suffered a direct hit in the assault.
