Identity and Citizenship Authority Warns Against Misleading Online Accounts Promising Fast-Track Services

Abu dhabi: The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security has issued a cautionary message to citizens, residents, and visitors in the United Arab Emirates, urging them to be vigilant when applying for services and to utilize only authorized channels.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Authority has raised concerns about unauthorized offices or companies promoting misleading advertisements via websites and social media platforms. These entities claim to offer expedited services, but the Authority has clarified that such privileges have not been granted to any office or company advertising on social media.

The Authority reassures that its services are available through simplified procedures accessible via its official website, smart application, and authorized service centers across the UAE. It has highlighted that reliance on unauthorized sources can lead to financial exploitation without any legal backing.

Furthermore, the Authority has identified a rise in illegal online activities by certain social media accounts, which falsely claim to expedite government services without adhering to the requisite regulations and standards, often charging exorbitant fees.

The Authority emphasized the deceptive advertising tactics employed by these entities, which not only exploit customers but also tarnish the Authority's reputation, create security risks, and foster a black market that undermines fairness and transparency in service delivery.
