Indian Army said on Wednesday that two militants were gunned down in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir while averting an infiltration bid.
The Press Trust of India said quoting Army's Srinagar-based Chinar Corps that two militants were killed in a joint operation in Jammu and Kashmir.
"In a joint operation launched by Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir police, an infiltration bid was foiled today morning by alert troops along Line of Control in Macchal Sector, Kupwara," the Army said in a tweet.
The forces also recovered four AK rifles, hand grenades and other war-like materials.
Indian authorities had announced yesterday killing of four militants in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
New Delhi accuses Islamabad of supporting and funding the armed groups in Kashmir, claims which Islamabad denies.
