Interior Ministry’s Clarification regarding what is being raised about arrest of Muhammad Al-Shahari

Interior Ministry issued an explanatory statement regarding what is being raised about the issue of arresting the citizen, Muhammad Al-Shahari.

The official spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Abdul Khaliq Al-Ajri, said, in a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that the executive duties of the Ministry of Interior require it to respond in implementing any orders issued to it by the judicial authority, and that the arrest of brother Muhammad Al-Shahari was in implementation of a compulsive order issued by the Press and Publication Prosecution, but - unfortunately - the implementation method was negative and inappropriate.

He added, "The Interior Minister directed to send a committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding the arrest process, and it became clear through the investigation that members of the Capital Municipality research staff actually lured Al-Shahari under the title of meeting the Minister of Interior, in an act that violates the law, professionalism, and credibility in security and police work."

He pointed out that the Minister of the Interior directed that the violators be arrested and referred to the Inspector General to take legal measures against them.

He pointed to the Minister's dissatisfaction with this irresponsible behavior, and that he did not and will not be an umbrella for the violators ,the reckless, that any violator of laws and regulations exploits his position or job in this security institution, he will not be tolerated, nor will his actions be overlooked, whoever he is.
