International Defence Conference 2025 Kicks Off Tomorrow in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: Under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the International Defence Conference 2025 will commence tomorrow at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. The event is set to gather global defence and security leaders, experts, and companies to deliberate on the key challenges and opportunities in the sector.

According to Emirates News Agency, the conference is organized by ADNEC Group in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and the Tawazun Council. This year's theme, "Defence Reimagined: Innovation, Integration and Resilience," anticipates drawing over 1,800 experts and specialists. The conference runs concurrently with the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) and the Naval Defence and Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX).

The conference will include three key sessions that tackle: "Global Disruptions and Defence Preparedness: Mitigating Threats to Critical Supply Chains," "Disinformation and Influence Operations: The Weaponisation of Information in Modern Conflict," and "The Sky is No Longer the Limit: Emerging Threats and Opportunities in Space." Twelve distinguished speakers, including leaders, ministers, and senior defence officials from around the world, are slated to contribute to these discussions.

With a history of successful international engagement, the conference is recognized as a leading global forum for dialogue on defence and security. Previous editions have been instrumental in enhancing international cooperation, showcasing the latest innovations, and shaping future defence strategies. The conference underscores the UAE's ongoing commitment to progress and fostering meaningful partnerships in the global defence community.

This year, the conference will also incorporate virtual participation through global digital platforms, expanding accessibility for an international audience. The hybrid model enables industry leaders, policymakers, and media experts who cannot attend in person to engage in the discussions from anywhere globally.

The event is expected to enhance global collaboration and foster impactful discussions addressing rapidly evolving defence and security challenges. It will feature high-profile international participation, drawing prominent figures from defence, economy, and technology fields. The conference will conclude with a dedicated session presenting strategic recommendations to shape the framework for future defence programmes.
