Iran Hopes To Establish The First Joint Free Trade Zone With Iraq

Adviser to the President of the Republic, Secretary of the Supreme Council for Free Zones in the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hojjatullah Abdul-Malik, stated, on Friday, that the ground is available for the establishment of the first joint free trade zone between Iran and Iraq.

"Recently, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad al-Sudani, took into consideration a point on the other side of the Mahran border in Wasit Governorate to establish a joint free zone between the two countries, as studies are being conducted about it at the present time," Abdul-Malik said, in a statement to the official Iranian agency, "IRNA".

He expressed his hope that the first joint free trade zone between Iran and Iraq would enter the operational phase and be established by the end of the year./ End
