Tel Aviv: Israel's military chief Eyal Zamir warned Friday that his country should be "ready for a prolonged campaign" against Iran. "We have embarked on the most complex campaign in our history to remove a threat of such magnitude, against such an enemy. We must be ready for a prolonged campaign," Zamir said in a video statement to Israelis.
According to Emirates News Agency, Zamir stated that the Israeli military had been preparing for "years" for this campaign against Iran, despite ongoing military operations against the Palestinians. He emphasized that the Iranian operation was enabled by a combination of operational and strategic conditions, some of which were temporary. Zamir stressed the importance of acting promptly against what he described as an "existential threat" to Israel.
Zamir further warned Israelis to brace for more challenges as the country faces daily attacks from Iranian ballistic missiles. He acknowledged significant achievements but cautioned that difficult days still lie ahead, urging Israelis to remain alert and united until the mission is complete.
