Tokyo: Japan's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Iwaya Takeshi, expressed serious concern over the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip during a meeting with Gideon Sa'ar, Israel's Minister of Foreign Affairs, who is visiting Japan for the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.According to Emirates News Agency, Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement indicating that Minister Iwaya highlighted the many civilian casualties attributed to the resumption of military operations in Gaza. He strongly urged all involved parties to return to negotiations and work sincerely towards maintaining the ceasefire agreement.Minister Iwaya also called for adherence to international law, emphasizing the protection of civilians and the provision of humanitarian assistance.
